Conviction
Most people I admire have strong convictions.
Their convictions give them purpose: they know what they do and why they do it.
They are singers, activists, designers, illustrators, nurses, painters, filmmakers, researchers, writers, ambassadors, comedians, or doctors.
Yes, I have values. I want sustainability, pacifism, and veganism.
But sometimes, I feel this is not enough to choose a life’s path.
I am in quest of conviction.
What is my deepest truth?
What do I want to bring to the world?
What is worth doing most of my time, for the rest of my life?
What is not in vain in the face of the darkness of the human soul?
What is not in vain in the face of the flow of time?
I sometimes get stuck in the present moment.
It is a blessing, for it is an endless source of joy.
But it is a curse, for I find no reason to move in any direction.
What is your conviction?
What drives it?
How does it guide you forward?
